Specialising in English music for the classical guitar.
The editor of this series of books is Anthony Dodds who for the last thirty years has been teaching guitar in West Dorset and East Devon having gained his teacher’s diploma from the Royal Academy of Music in 1988. The publishing of music began in 1991 and the first books contained a variety of arrangements mostly suitable for the younger player. In 2004 it was decided to concentrate purely on English music and this current list is the result. In due course more titles will be added.
There are many lesser known English composers whose music deserves to be heard. As guitarists we are accustomed to playing pieces by Scarlatti and Bach but it is also a pleasure to play the music of Thomas Chilcot and William Croft who were their less illustrious contemporaries. Many other neglected English composers are represented in these books.
Each edition is produced to professional standards with clear notation, sensible page turns and a minimum of fingering. For all guitar duets two complete scores are provided.
